The Natural History Museum London, inspired by The Last of Us

Using Unreal Engine 5, I aimed to recreate the Natural History Museum as a digital environment inspired by The Last of Us Universe. My goal is not only to pay tribute to the museum’s cultural and architectural significance, but also to design something that meets the standards of today’s game environments. This was tackled using Blender to model low-poly and hard-surface elements, while more organic elements, Such as Bones, were sculpted in ZBrush. The texturing was a mix of Painter and Designer, as I wanted to develop both simultaneously; this all culminated in the Unreal Engine 5. I discovered that this works best for me as a back-and-forth process, as the assets can look very different between the programs, especially in engine. This resulted in numerous tweaks before the assets were finalised. I learnt what it takes to scope properly and apply my time efficiently to what matters within the space. Thanks for looking :)
